Do I need to be a good dancer to do a group dance class?

Not at all! No matter what your current level, the routines are designed to be perfect for beginners. Your instructor will break up the routine into smaller, easy-to-follow steps so that you can follow along easily. There are also no age limits on our dance classes.

How many can take part in the group dance class?

There is a requirement of 10 paying hens for the class to go ahead but if your group is less than that, fear not! The cost of 10 hens can simply be spread by however may are in your group. Also, spectators are free of charge, just let your hen party planner so that they can check if space is available at the venue.

What do we wear for a group dance class?

All members are encouraged to wear whatever they feel comfortable in for our dance classes. However, we ask that everyone wears appropriate footwear, as some of the venues we work with do not allow clients to be barefoot or wear heels. We recommend trainers and comfortable clothing, but obviously fancy dress befitting your chose dance theme is most welcome and provides an awesome photo op.

When can I do a group dance class?

Typically our classes take part all year round on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday and we have time slots from 10 am up until 7.30pm. If you do have a weekday in mind, please let your party planner know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Can we have an alcoholic tipple during the class?

When you receive your venue details, you will find out the type of venue it is and there is any alcohol restrictions. If the venue is a bar, club or hotel function room, there are likely onsite bars available. We would remind you that it is essentially an exercise class, and these don’t always go hand in hand with alcohol. If your dance class is in a dance studio or gym, bringing your own alcohol is unlikely. Most of these studios have ‘water only’ rules.

Where do group dance classes take place?

Our classes are hosted at central venues, including dance studios and function rooms in hotels or bars. We aim to let you know the venue within five working days of receiving your deposit payment.

We can also come to you too! Some hens who are renting large venues for the weekend often ask if we can come to them. If you’re happy there is enough space for all of you and the instructor, then we can arrange this for you. Just speak to your party planner about costings.

One of the hens is pregnant, can they take part?

Dance classes require physical activity so if they are pregnant or have an injury it is best to check with their GP first before booking their place.

Famed for producing Rowntrees confectionary and the iconic Terry’s chocolate orange, it’s not surprising there is an abundance of chocolate shops paying homage to York’s chocolate heritage. Our favourite offering of chocolate heaven is The York Cocoa House. All the chocolates are on made on site and the delicious aroma of freshly melted chocolate when you enter The York Cocoa Works is simply divine. You can also opt to have a go at making your own chocolate too.

Talking of Rowntrees, Rowntree Park in York is a beautiful spot for a hen party picnic. The park is close to the city centre, on the banks of the river and is a good place to catch your breath if you’ve had one too many vinos the night before.

York’s nightlife is evenly divided by the River Ouse. Micklegate on the western side, is where you’ll tend to find any stag or hen do due to its range of nightlife venues that cater for all tastes and is well equipped for party people.

On the Eastern side of the River Ouse, you’ll find one of the trendiest nightclubs in the North East – Kuda. You’ll love all the glamour, great DJs and superb cocktails.

Although the east side of the city can party, it has a more upmarket atmosphere and vibe from its western counterpart, but this can also be reflected in the price of drinks, so it depends on your budget.
